I think the biggest change I’ve seen to fandom is its incredible visibility in recent years. As digital technology increases the availability of fandom (and the texts that fans are fans of), it has become more common to be seen as a fan — perhaps not completely de-stigmatized, but more recognized by the industry and by everyday people.
