If you don’t recognize this woman, Number One, a.k.a. ur-Spock, may I recommend Francesca Coppa’s gorgeous essay about her and a bunch of other awesome things, Women, “Star Trek,” and the Early Development of Fannish Vidding. It was published in the very first issue of TWC, and it’s still one of my favourite fan studies articles ever.
